Hawaii's famous Hōlei Sea Arch has fallen into the Pacific
The 90ft lava rock arch was still standing on 23 September but was gone by 27 September

Hawaii's Hōlei Sea Arch has collapsed into the Pacific. The roughly 90ft lava rock arch at the end of Chain of Craters Road in Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park was standing on Wednesday 23 September but gone by Sunday night.
It was carved from a lava flow about 550 years old. Nobody knows exactly when it fell. It may have happened while the park was shut during storm Nolo, though officials haven't said whether the weather played a part.
No injuries have been reported. Google Maps now lists it as "Permanently closed", which is hard to argue with. Rangers are urging people to stay out of the closed area near the cliff edge.
