Sleep talkers swear far more than awake, Paris study finds
Nearly 10% of clauses had profanity, and 232 adults were filmed over two nights

Sleep talkers swear far more than they do awake. In one study, the French equivalent of the F-word cropped up about 800 times more often than in waking speech.
Researchers in Paris filmed 232 adults over two nights and logged 883 speech episodes. Nearly 10% of clauses contained profanity, and men swore more than women.
The study's from 2017 and most volunteers had sleep disorders. The most common word of all wasn't a swear word, though.
Would your partner say you swear in your sleep?
