Airbnb hosts can no longer make you do chores
Applies to bookings made on or after 20 November 2026, and host fines are banned too
Airbnb hosts will no longer be allowed to make guests wash up, strip the beds or do the laundry before checking out.
The new rules cover bookings made on or after 20 November 2026. Hosts can still ask you to pop used dishes in the sink, but anything that takes real time or effort, or that a cleaner would normally do, is off the table. Host-imposed fines are banned too.
